Block of the Month

We have been getting together the first Saturday of the month to work on the Debbie Mumm block of the month project for 2009. Here is the class hard at work. Everyone is doing a fantastic job! We are learning from each other and having a great time together. Here is the March block, it was a little bit of a challenge for some of us as the block finished off at 9 1/2 inches. Accuracy is the key!!

Tomorrow, March 6th, will be my monthly class for a table topper. However, we will be making a table runner instead. Here is what it will look like. I couldn't get the pointed ends in the picture. I wish you could see the butterflies that Sherie quilted on it; they look so beautiful. Three large ones in the center and small ones flying around the border. Wow, she did a great job on it! Of course, it isn't quite finished as you can see there is no binding, but I wanted to post it. I thought it was very Springy (the season) looking. What do you think?

Baby Quilt Kit

My friend and fellow quilter, Sherie Kelly (who is my custom quilter) have designed this baby quilt. I have kits available with and without the backing or just the panel. The backing is a darling light blue with fluffy little lambs. The kit is $55.00

Hemstitching?

I have just become interested, again in hemstitching. Hemstitching is the art of finishing the edge of fabric. In my case it is the finishing of baby bibs, receiving blankets, burpcloths, etc. I am ordering in some of these articles that have been machine hemstitched ready for the crocheting! I will be having a class to get people started learning how to do this beautiful finish. This image will show you what I am talking about. This may not be the best example, but you can get the idea. Noone in my area is providing this service, so I am hoping it will catch on.

I will have 4 booklets with different patterns for the crochet. Plus the crochet hooks and thread.
